DURA Automotive Systems Is Automotive News PACE Award Winner
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., April 13 -- DURA Automotive Systems, Inc. today announced it has won the prestigious Automotive News PACE Award in the Product Category for its Heated Power Rear Sliding Window. In addition, DURA also was a joint recipient of the publication's PACE Innovative OEM Collaborator Award along with its long-time customer Ford Motor Company for the collaborative work done on the Heated Power Rear Sliding Window.
The Automotive News PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence) Award honors superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance among automotive suppliers.
DURA's Heated Power Rear Sliding Window is a "first-to-market" product designed and patented by Dura Automotive Systems and is currently available exclusively on the Ford F150 pickup truck. In the past pickup truck customers had to choose between the safety of the fixed-heated rear window or the convenience of a sliding rear window. With Dura's Heated Power Rear Sliding Window, the customer can now have both features.
"We are very pleased and proud that DURA received both these awards and honored to be recognized with Ford Motor Company for our collaborative efforts," said Timothy D. Leuliette, chairman, DURA Automotive Systems. "The Heated Power Rear Sliding Window put our customer and DURA ahead of the game in rear window technology. It showcases the talent and abilities of the DURA team and the power of working together with our customer."
The Collaborator Award recognizes an OEM and supplier who have done an exceptional job of partnering to develop an effective manufacturing innovation and is chosen from PACE award finalists. Dura Glass Systems Engineering, Dura Shifter Group, and Duratronics collaborated with Ford Body Engineering and the Ford Electrical Group to integrate the design into the 2010 model year Ford F150 pickup truck.
The awards were presented at the Automotive News PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence) Award ceremony in Detroit on April 12, 2010, which honors innovators in the automotive supply chain.
The Automotive News PACE Awards honor superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance among automotive suppliers. This prestigious award, now in its sixteenth year, is recognized around the world as the industry symbol of innovation. PACE Award finalists have come from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, the UK, Korea and Japan.
