On the strength of a 6.566-second, 211.43 mph pass recorded in Saturday’s first session, Summit Racing Pontiac driver Jason Line captured the seventh starting position for Sunday’s final eliminations of the O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston, TX.  In each of his first three attempts, Line bettered his performance from the earlier round, including posting the second-quickest time after racing resumed on Saturday following a three-hour rain delay.  
 
However, after driving through tire shake on his fourth and final run, Line acknowledged that they would need to produce a more consistent performance.
 
“We need to find the proper balance so we can make good, consistent runs with our Summit Racing Pontiac,�?? said Line.   “For example, it made a decent pass this morning, one that still had something left in it, but then came back in the second session and was horrible. It’s something we’ve been fighting to get right all year, because it’s definitely hurting us.  
 
“We’ve shown we have the potential to run with the best in our class, but we need to do it on every run.  It’s something we’ve been working on non-stop, and I believe we’re making progress.  It’s just a matter of time before we get there, but it just can’t come soon enough for any of us.  Still, we have a good starting position for tomorrow, and believe we have a legitimate shot at winning.  It’s going to take some work, but we can do it.�??
