Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum Sweeps the NAAMY Awards

AUBURN -

The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum was honored by receiving
national accolades at the recent National Association of Automobile Museums
(NAAM) Conference in Tupelo, Mississippi. NAAMY Awards of Excellence honor
the work of nonprofit automotive transportation museums in the following
categories: Collateral Material, Film & Video, Publications, Interpretive
Exhibit, Web Design, Educational Program and Events & Public Promotions.
The Awards are intended to recognize industry leaders for achievement,
professionalism and creativity.

There are two divisions of competition, and the Auburn Cord Duesenberg
Automobile Museum fell into the category of museums with budgets greater
than $300,000. Competing against museums from across the country, including
The Henry Ford, Petersen Automotive Museum and Gilmore Car Museum, the
Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum was awarded eight NAAMY Awards of
Excellence.

This year NAAMYs were awarded for 2008 and 2009. The 2008 conference was
cancelled due to the economic crisis that was prohibitive to many museums
being able to attend. Executive Director Laura Brinkman and Executive Vice
President Matt Short were in Mississippi attending the conference and
accepted all of the awards on behalf of the Museum.

For 2008, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum was awarded:

* First Place in the Collateral Material category for the re-interpretation
of the museum logo by Brand Innovation Group of Fort Wayne, Indiana and
revision of the Museum's name.

* First Place in the Publications category for the re-design of the
semi-annual museum publication "The Accelerator"

* First Place in the Interpretive Exhibit category for the "Gordon Buehrig
Gallery of Design"

* Second Place in the Film & Video category for the video that was created
for the Dean V. Kruse Gallery of Early Auburn Automobiles which was directed
and produced by Lynchpin Pictures of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

* Third Place in the Interpretive Exhibit for the Design Studio Gallery
opened in 2008 where children of any age can design his or her own
automobile.

For the 2009 NAAMY Awards of Excellence, the Museum was honored to receive:

* First Place in the Educational Program category for the creation of the
"Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum Coloring and Story Book" created
by Museum Store Product Developer Marcia Doell and Director of Archives and
Education Jon Bill with artwork by DeKalb High School art students.

* First Place in the Film & Video category for "Your Visit to the Auburn
Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum DVD" which was produced by Rod booth,
Motor America Television.

* First Place in the Web Design category for the recently re-interpreted and
re-designed website for the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum which
can be found at www.automobilemuseum.org

The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum submitted eight entries for
review by the panel of expert judges and was awarded a NAAMY for each
submission!

"It is really exciting to be recognized nationally for all of the hard work,
time and dedication of the museum's staff, trustees and volunteers," said
Executive Director Laura Brinkman. "Coupled with the acknowledgement we
received from our peers and the judges, who were independent professionals
in the various categories, is pretty fantastic as well."

The National Association of Automobile Museums is comprised of 168 members.
The association is intended for institutions and people dedicated to the
automobile and its history, including museums, companies, auto clubs and
individuals. The mission of NAAM is to be a professional center of
excellence for the support, promotion and education of automobile museums

was a founding member of NAAM in 1995.
