VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – April 6, 2010: Renault Australia has congratulated the Renault F1 Team and team driver Robert Kubica on a strong 2nd place in the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.

“It was a superb drive in extremely trying conditions”, said Renault Australia Managing Director, Rudi Koenig.

“The entire Renault family in Australia congratulates Robert and the Team, and wishes them every success for the remainder of the season.”

While team drivers Kubica and Vitaly Petrov are extremely fast on the circuit, they along with Renault Australia are deeply concerned with road safety and reducing the road toll on public roads.

The FIA foundation is coordinating a global campaign called “Make Roads Safe”, and this is fully endorsed and supported by the Renault F1 Team.

To support the campaign, during their time in Melbourne, the F1 team visited the Sandown Motor Racing circuit and Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov mixed with Renault owners and supporters.

While they were there they took some lucky enthusiasts on laps around the circuit, in the newly released Clio Renault Sport 200 Cup, at the same time spreading the message: “if you want to drive fast, do it on a circuit under controlled conditions – not on public roads”.

“Renault is concerned with road safety, and takes a proactive approach”, Mr. Koenig said.

“That’s why they have twelve models globally that have received the maximum five stars for vehicle safety, under the internationally recognised Euro Ncap collision assessment programme”
