STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 2 April, 2010 -- China's BAIC wants to deepen its cooperation with Sweden's Saab, bought from GM recently by Dutch sports car firm Spyker, and is ready to invest in the firm, daily Dagens Industri wrote, quoting BAIC's chief executive Wang Dazong.

BAIC bid for Saab when it was put up for sale by GM, and also for GM's Opel unit, Wang said.

Late last year, BAIC bought rights and equipment to build older Saab models. Wang said there were no current negotiations to buy into Spyker.

"Spyker is listed in Amsterdam and 35 percent of the shares are free-floating. They are there to be bought," Dagens Industri quoted Spyker CEO Victor Muller saying. "I don't need control and would gladly have more ownership partners."
