Toyota receives Green Leaf Award
Manhattan, New York – As we celebrate the earth this month, the 2010 Green
Leaf Award will be presented to Toyota at the New York International Auto
Show. Toyota is recognized for their commitment in reducing greenhouse
gases, smog-forming pollutants through their hybrid automobiles and their
commitment to promote environmental stewardship, education and research.
“Working together, we can raise public awareness of this important issue,
and take steps to fight the threat of global warming, helping to build a
more sustainable future for our children and our grandchildren”, said Victor
Mooney of New York based – South African Arts International.
The inaugural Green Leaf award was presented to General Motors at the 2008
New York International Auto Show. “We are happy to receive this award at the
show”, said the Toyota Motor Corporation in an email statement.
As a recipient of this award, Toyota will be invited to join our efforts to
plant one million trees world-wide during Goree Challenge III – Africa to
Brooklyn by rowboat. The tree planting ceremony was launch in Dakar, Senegal
with USA Embassy, Senegal officials and the residents of Goree Island.
