National AF&V Conference Keynote Speakers Announced
Nationally Recognized Speakers Address Vehicle Innovation, Energy
Independence & Clean Air
Las Vegas, NV- Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVi) hosts the sixteenth
Alternative Fuels & Vehicles National Conference + Expo (AF&V 2010) in Las
Vegas, NV, May 9-12. Alternative fuels and advanced transportation
technologies will be featured in the largest fuel and technology neutral
industry event of its kind. AFVi is pleased to announce the keynote speakers
headlining the event.
Eric Cahill, Senior Director of the Progressive Insurance Automotive X
Prize, has more than 15 years of experience directing technology-intense
enterprises, including leading the team that developed the forthcoming
Fisker Karma luxury plug-in hybrid sports car. The innovative X Prize
competition will award $10 million to teams that win a rigorous stage
competition for clean, fuel-efficient, production-capable vehicles.
John Davis is the EmmyR Award-winning Host, Executive Producer and Creator
of MotorWeek, television's longest running automotive series. Seen by
millions of viewers on PBS, Davis was one of the first mainstream
journalists to provide regular coverage of alternative fuels. Mr. Davis has
been featured on CNN and Weekend Today, in PARADE Magazine and countless
media outlets around the country.
Oscar B. Goodman, aka the "Happiest Mayor in the Universe," has aggressively
promoted and presided over the City of Las Vegas since 1979. During his
tenure Las Vegas has won several alternative fuel honors, including the
World Leadership Award for its innovative approach to clean fleet services.
T. Boone Pickens, Founder and Chairman of BP Capital Management, has
dominated the news in the eighteen months since launching the "Pickens
Plan," his national energy campaign. He has started a national conversation
and now he wants the federal government to bring about change. He's become a
leading voice in addressing the twin threats of economic vulnerability and
national security.
R. James Woolsey has held top positions in both Democratic and Republican
administrations, including serving as head of the CIA under President
Clinton. Today he tirelessly delivers the message that clean technology is
essential to preserve the security of our nation and our planet. Mr. Woolsey
is a VantagePoint Venture Partner and he is the Annenberg Distinguished
Visiting Fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institute. He also is a Senior
Executive Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton.
