Line Will Start Third at 4-Wide Nationals
Event: Inaugural NHRA 4-Wide Nationals
Location: zMAX Dragway, Concord, NC
Day/Date: Saturday, March 27, 2010
Jason Line completed a solid qualifying performance on Saturday, capturing the third starting position for Sunday’s final eliminations of the 4-Wide Nationals in Concord, NC. In three of the four sessions, Line’s Summit Racing Pontiac was one of the two quickest cars among the 26 attempting to qualify, culminating with his 6.551-second pass on his final attempt, which came with a career-best speed of 212.19 mph. This marked Line’s best qualifying performance of the young 2010 season, and best in three starts at zMAX Dragway, giving him lane choice for the opening stanza of the first four-wide elimination round in Pro Stock history.
“Although we’re only truly happy when we’re at the top of the page, I’d say we’re fairly satisfied with our Summit Racing Pontiac’s performance in qualifying,?? said Line. “zMAX Dragway is an awesome facility and we had ideal atmospheric conditions today, but unfortunately we weren’t able to take full advantage of them because of the difficulties we’ve had getting off the starting line.
“Even so, we were able to make three decent runs and put ourselves solidly in the show, gathering some bonus points along the way. Tomorrow should prove to be interesting
