Peterbilt Launches Fuller UltraShift® PLUS Transmissions for Vocational and on-Highway Models
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Today, Peterbilt Motors Company announced immediate availability of the Fuller UltraShift® PLUS Linehaul Active Shifting (LAS), Vocational Construction Series (VCS) and Vocational Multipurpose Series (VMS) transmissions for Peterbilt Models 389, 388, 587, 386, 384, 367 and 365.

Fleets and drivers are requesting vehicles that are simple to operate and address increased traffic congestion and changing driver demographics. The new Fuller UltraShift PLUS transmissions are designed to tackle these issues with fully integrated electronics to optimize performance. The electronic controls employ grade sensing, driver throttle commands and vehicle weight to make intelligent shift decisions as needed.

The Fuller UltraShift PLUS LAS 13 Speed system features:
- Over-drive, direct-drive and multi-torque capabilities
- Intelligent gear selection for optimal performance and fuel economy
- Seat or dash mounted shift controls for easy access
The Fuller UltraShift PLUS Vocational (VCS) and (VMS) 10, 11 or Speed systems feature:
- Hill Start Aid that prevents vehicle roll-back or roll-forward when launching on grades
- Electronic Clutch Actuator (provides smooth engagement)
- Creep, Automatic, Manual and Low modes
UltraShift PLUS transmission systems offer torque capacities from 1450 lb-ft to 2250 lb-ft.
