AMERICAN SPEED ASSOCIATION'S LIVE SHORT TRACK ACTION REACHES OUT TO ALL THE SENSES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
American Speed Association PR
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Wednesday, March 24, 2010) - Short track racing doesn't get the
attention like other sports and entertainment venues near it. Yet, it provides
something unique and special that, like other sports fans will say, only can be
felt and described if a fan was there in person rather than sitting at home on the
couch.
It doesn't matter that you may have the latest in high definition televisions, the
best speaker system available on the market, or the most comfortable recliner to
relax in. Because none of that will generate the natural atmosphere you will find
when you see an event live and in person at your local short track.
At home, you will only be able to use three of your five senses. You will be able
to see the action, hear a simulation of the actual sound that is at the venue, and
taste the food that you enjoy while watching. What you see is not what you want
to see, its what a director wants you to see, the sound is not natural, and the
food...well we all have heard that the atmosphere makes the food better.
This season all of the American Speed Association Member Tracks and sanctioned series
are ready to provide some of the best racing action that will attract and overwhelm
all five senses. You will see the exciting racing action with your own eyes and
you can choose what you want to see on the track. Remember the racing is not always
at the front. You will hear the natural sound of race cars passing you by as they
go full speed around the track. The food available will enhance the overall experience.
While you can enjoy the races from the comfort of your home, short tracks reaches
out to not just three but all five of the senses. From the natural aroma to getting
up close and meeting these drivers and touching their home built machines.
Auto racing is a sport that needs to be watched in person and the short tracks are
a great place to do that. The size of these tracks allows you to see all of the
action in an intimate setting under the stars at night or the bright afternoon
sunshine. What is great is that you the fan has a variety to choose from. You
can choose from the design, the size and even the racing surface they compete on.
The best thing is that it is affordable to do this. You are not helping to supplement
multiple million dollar salaries but those who look at this sport as a hobby, a
proving ground, or a starting point to a bright future in this sport.
The ASA Member Tracks and Series each have their own heroes and yes some have their
own villains to give you a reason to return week after week to witness the action
first hand, that is the continuing drama of what goes around the track. Young fans
will see their new local hero compete in front of them and then have that special
opportunity to meet them after the race, or in some cases maybe get a chance to
ride in the car they cheer for each week creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Each has a uniqueness to it. Whether its the track itself, the drivers who race
there or the divisions that compete each week. Overall, for a reasonable admission
price, you the fan will get your money's worth with the entertainment you will see
in person. In fact, the admission is so reasonable you rarely question that you
never got your money's worth.
Then there is the atmosphere and friendships that you develop when you visit a short
track. You will find that not only do you have a common interest in racing but
in many different things. The short track is your weekly meeting place. You will
soon find yourself sitting in the same seats with the same family and friends each
week. Then soon you will get to know the competitors because your roam the pits
afterwards and meet them. All of a sudden you find yourself in a unique situation
of cheering for many of them because you know them. That is something that won't
happen while you sit in your nice recliner with that awesome high definition television
and speaker system.
Whether its an ASA Member Track or an ASA sanctioned series event or any short track
near your home, do yourself a favor...go and visit it this summer. You will soon
realize that watching it on television is nothing close to what it is like in person.
Believe it when everyone involved in this sport says they know someone who said
that auto racing was boring because they only watched it on television and when
they went to a short track, their opinion changed.
"I would encourage everyone to visit a short track this summer, you will not regret
the experience," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "They are all over the United
States and many are a lot closer to you than you think. Promoters are working
hard to provide not only the great racing action on the track, but many are making
improvements to their facilities to give you a great overall experience."
The ASA Member Track program is comprised of dirt and asphalt short tracks along
with road courses around the United States, as well as a variety of regional and
national touring series. For more information, call (386) 258-2221 or send an e-mail
