The Honda Performance Development factory-backed ARX-01c topped the timesheets for the LMP2 class in all four test sessions with David Brabham, Simon Pagenaud and Marino Franchitti sharing seat time over the two days. The team recorded a best time during the Monday afternoon session - stopping the clocks at 1 minute, 47.397 seconds - a time nearly half a second faster than the quickest practice time set by David Brabham with the ARX-01b at Sebring in 2008 (1:47.819). The Patrón Highcroft squad also featured strongly in the overall times at the Sebring test - finishing 6th, 4th, 3rd and 5th in the four sessions. The team will return to the track tomorrow afternoon with a 30 minute test session at 2:20pm for the prototype cars only, followed by an hour session at 2:50pm for the entire 35 car field entered for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. We varied the set-up a bit today to try a few things after the car was really good yesterday. "The track here at Sebring changes a lot from day to day and you are always chasing the track. "There are a lot more cars out there and we are getting a lot of pick-up on the tires as well. "That all plays a bit of a role in how the car feels. We are confident we have a very good set-up but we have been chasing the track a little bit. "We need to be careful we don't get carried away with the track changes, but overall I am very happy with the way the week has begun." SIMON PAGENAUD "It has been a bit of a funny week because we rolled off the truck yesterday and the car was awesome straight away. "Now we are just trying to tune something that was pretty amazing already. Sometimes you are going to go the wrong way, but that gives us a good indication of what not to do. "This afternoon was a bit of frantic session with lots of red flags, but the team was able to react quickly to make a lot of changes quickly. "We were able to make a lot of changes and get a good feel for the track. "It is very encouraging. We have had a very bright start and we have a clear direction regarding the car set-up. "It is very pleasing to be in this position." MARINO FRANCHITTI "Everybody feels great and we are all looking forward to going racing this weekend. "The team is as well prepared as any team I have ever seen at the start of the season. "The car itself is in great shape and all three drivers are really happy with the balance of the car. "We have a car which suits all conditions which is very important here at Sebring. "It is great to come back with a proven package were we are concentrating on performance rather than improving certain parts of the car. "That is quite a novel situation to be in."
