In 2009, Schumacher won his record sixth consecutive and seventh overall NHRA top fuel world championship. At the NHRA World finals in Pomona, CA last November, Schumacher edged Larry Dixon by two points in the closest top fuel championship battle in NHRA history. In addition to Schumacher, NHRA announcer Alan Reinhart will return for his regular WFO Radio NHRA Tuesday segment. Reinhart will provide expert commentary of the NHRA Full Throttle and Lucas Oil Drag Racing series while taking listener e-mail questions live on the air.
