BIG CHANGES COMING FOR ASA MEMBER TRACK I-25 SPEEDWAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
American Speed Association PR
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Monday, March 8, 2010) - They are a little more than two months
away from their season opener and Perry White is keeping busy.  White, the Promoter
of I-25 Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Bragdon, CO, has had a busy off-season
and as he continues to work on improving his weekly program.
White stated that they are making two improvements to their 2010 season, "The biggest
improvement that we are making this year is that we are going to go to transponders,"
White said.  "We felt it was the time for us to step up and do this, we are installing
the loop in early May and plan to have it ready for our May 15th season opener."
The other change will come with his late model division.  "We are going to make
a change that I think will help our late model class tremendously," White explained.
 "For 2010, we are going to phase in the GM and Ford crate engines to that division
and by 2011, we will fully implement crate late models.  We are also going to change
the name of that division to ASA All-Pro Late Models."
The reaction to the change has been positively received, "Of course when you make
a change, you will hear some complaining but over the last two months or so, we
have heard more positive then negative," White said.  "I think for us to survive
 and for our competitors to continue to race, we felt that we needed to go in this
direction and so far it is sounding like it will be the right decision."
White is also very realistic about coming into the 2010 season and hopes that the
recession doesn't hurt his track.  So far with his early registration, he is not
 seeing that, "We had an early registration period that came to an end last month
and I will tell you this, our registrations are about the same as last year," White
said.  "In some of our classes, they are up."
One thing that White is excited about is I-25 Speedway's relationship with ASA,
"When we joined ASA a few years ago, it started out as a working relationship and
now it has become a friendship and a business partnership," White said.  "They came
to us and wanted to prove a point and they have proved that point to us.  It's a
 very comfortable relationship and I don't see us going anywhere else and that goes
a long with me.  The staff there goes way beyond the call of duty and I am blessed
that we are partners."
They will a full season planned with their Second Annual Fall Classic in September.
 Last year's event was the most attended event ever at I-25 Speedway.
"Perry and his group at I-25 Speedway have become great friends with us and we are
glad to have them as part of the ASA family," Dennis Huth, ASA President said.
"He has been a strong advocate of the ASA Member Track program and has assisted
us with finding more tracks in his part of the country to join us.  We greatly appreciate
his efforts and wish him well for the 2010 season."
