Harris Poll Finds That Americans Love Hershey’s Kisses Brand Chocolates

In addition to sweetening any candy dish, Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates have become a must-have baking ingredient, including the delicious centerpiece of Peanut Butter Blossom cookies. To celebrate Americans’ love for baking with Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates, the experts at Hershey’s® Kitchens have crafted a new cookie recipe –Hershey’s Kisses Minty Macaroon Cookie Cups– combining the delicious taste of Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates with coconut. A new national commercial began airing February 22 that highlights the magical process of creating Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates – from making the perfect “Kiss” shape in the factory to creating special moments at home. Additional TV commercials featuring Hershey®’s Kisses® Brand Milk Chocolates with Almonds and Hershey®’s Kisses® Brand Milk Chocolates with Caramel will follow throughout the year and print ads are scheduled to run from March through May.

Hershey’s Kisses Minty Macaroon Cookie Cups Recipe

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, remove wrappers from 30 Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolates and paper or foil line 30 small (1-3/4 inch diameter) muffin cups. Add 1-1/2 cups of Mounds® Sweetened Coconut Flakes to medium bowl or re-sealable plastic food storage bag. Tint coconut green by placing 3/4 teaspoon of water and 3 to 4 drops of green food color and toss with fork or shake plastic bag until coconut is evenly coated; set aside. Beat 1/3 cup of softened butter or margarine, 2/3 cup of sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoon of water and 1/2 -to-1 teaspoon of mint extract until well blended. Add one egg; beat well. Stir together one cup of flour, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. Gradually beat into butter mixture, beating well. Add several drops green food color to dough, blending until desired color is achieved. Refrigerate dough about 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle. Shape dough into 30 balls (each about one-inch). Roll cookie balls in green tinted coconut and place in prepared muffin cups. Bake 14-to-16 minutes or until cookie surface is set. Cookies will appear soft and moist. Do not over bake. Let cookies cool about three minutes; press Hershey’s Kisses Chocolate into center of each cookie. Let cookies cool completely in pans on wire rack. Recipe makes 30 cookies.
