TURIN, Italy — Fiat's stand at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show will espouse eco-friendly themes, with the Doblo Natural Power and new Twin-Air two-cylinder engine.

The latest edition of the Doblo people mover is equipped with a dual-fuel supercharged 1.4-liter T-Jet engine that can run on gasoline or natural gas.

The engine delivers 120 horsepower and 152 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. CO2 is a relatively low 134 g/km. With both fuel systems, the Doblo has an extended driving range of nearly 400 miles.

Described as the "progenitor" of a new family of two-cylinder engines from Fiat Powertrain Technologies, the turbocharged 900cc Twin-Air engine makes 85 hp and will enter production this fall in the Fiat 500. The CO2 level is 95 g/km.

The Twin-Air range eventually will be expanded, in outputs from 65 to 105 hp. Fiat says the engine emits 30 percent less CO2 than larger multi-cylinder engines of equal performance.
