DELLS RACEWAY PARK CONTINUES TO GROW IN 2010 AS AN ASA MEMBER TRACK

American Speed Association PR
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Tuesday, February 23, 2010) - Joe Graziano and Lance Fielitz
continue to look at how they can be creative and innovative to attract new and current
race fans. As the owners of Dells Raceway Park, an ASA Member Track in Wisconsin
Dells, WI, they are going into the 2010 season with some new ideas and updating
some current ones.
"We have made some changes to our 2010 lineup," Graziano said. "Our weekly show
will feature late models rather than super late models as our top division. We
have removed our Super Stock division and replaced it with a Sportsman division
that will run the same rules as the new ASA Midwest Tour Sportsman Series and I
think we will see a great car count from that division. Our Pure Stock and Bandit
divisions will be back along with our new Six Shooter division."
The new Six Shooter division is a new entry class with simple rules, "Knock out
the glass, add a few safety items and you are racing!" said Race Director Scott
Sauerbrei. "Racing has never been easier or cheaper. We'll even help racers prepare
the safety items and let you store the car at the track to keep costs to a bare
minimum." The new division hopes to capture those who have been interested in racing
or some high school teams.
They will also have days dedicated to Karting in 2010 with nine stand alone dates.
Graziano said the plans are for the karts to run on the 1/3-mile oval with some
possible chicanes to keep the racing safe.
For the fans, they will see a change on admission in 2010 as they lowered the weekly
adult admission from $12 to $10. Special events will $15 for adults.
One thing that will not change in 2010 is they will return as an ASA Member Track,
"There are three things that our decision to renew with ASA," Graziano said. "The
first is their availability for some of the best up-scale racing insurance. This
is a good thing for the track along with the personal accident insurance available
to our competitors. The second is Dennis Huth. He has been like a mentor to me
because he has been in my shoes as a promoter and has been in this business for
a long time. He is always available when we have a question. The third is that
I think its good for a short track to be involved with a sanctioning body like ASA.
It gives strength and credibility to be a part of something that is bigger and
growing."
With the track located in "The Waterpark Capital of the World," Dells Raceway Park
will return a popular tourism draw that it started in 2009, "The Drive or be Driven"
Driving Experience. It's an opportunity for anyone to get behind the wheel of a
short track late model stock car or go for a ride along. Packages start as low
as $35. "This was a huge success for us in 2009, this was a big tourism draw,"
Graziano exclaimed. "We expect our number of participants to double in 2010."
"Joe and Lance have been doing a great job on making Dells Raceway Park a successful
racetrack," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "Both like to think out of the box.
Joe with how he likes to create an entertaining race program and Lance bringing
his restaurant experience to their concession stands. They go out of their way
to continuously improve the facility with fan comforts and great customer service."
