Vincec heads to round two of Florida Winter Tour Stouffville teen looks to build on double podium in season opener Stouffville, Ontario (February 17, 2010) Round two of the Florida Winter Tour takes place this coming weekend at the Palm Beach International Raceway and Mike Vincec with the Pserra Racing team are fired up for another run at the podium in Rotax Senior and DD2 categories. Vincec returned from the opening round last month with a double podium in DD2 scoring second place in race one and taking the victory in race two. It was a solid way to start the Winter Tour, commented Vincec. Finishing on the podium in both races gives me a strong start to gain a spot on the team going to the World Finals later this year. We are confident we can carry this momentum forward into the races this weekend. While Vincec had good runs in DD2, he struggled a bit in Rotax Senior and had to fight his way from the back of the field. He would end up with two top-ten results, the best run being taking him from 30th to 8th in race 1 and 7th in race 2. We did struggle in Rotax Senior Vincec reported, but the guys at Pserra Racing gave me a fantastic kart for the race and we were able to push forward. If we can get good starting positions this weekend we expect to be near the front in this class as well. The goal for Vincec in taking part in the Florida Winter Tour is the opportunity to gain an invitation to race once again with Team Canada in the Rotax World Finals. He last raced with Team Canada in 2007 in Dubai. The nineteen-year-old is already in Florida preparing for the event at Palm Beach International Raceway, which is a new track on the circuit this year. Vincec and the team will have to contend with cool temperatures this weekend, but that should not be a problem for the team from Canada. Practice gets underway on Friday (19th) with qualifying, heat races and finals set for both Saturday and Sunday.
