New Home for Audi in Launceston
ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – February 12, 2010: On Thursday 11 February 2010, the new home of Audi in Launceston will be officially opened by director and shareholder, Bruce Stevenson, and Audi Australia’s Head of Sales, Andrew Doyle.
This completely refurbished facility is in line with the brand’s national corporate identity for rural facilities and boasts an indoor display area for seven new Audi vehicles, plus an outdoor area which will hold up to 10 Audi Approved Plus vehicles.
For service customers, two dedicated diagnostic bays plus two dedicated service bays will ensure that aftersales service for the brand is a top priority at the new facility.
Sales for Audi in Launceston have grown steadily in the past six years and market share for the brand is a healthy 20 percent, a figure that is among the highest penetrations for the company nationally.
Bruce Stevenson, the founding director has been an Audi dealer since 1998 and in that time has seen the brand’s profile in Launceston increase in line with the company’s growth nationally.
Audi has just enjoyed it’s fifth record year in Australia, and the healthy sales in Launceston reflect this national success, according to Audi Australia’s General Manager Sales, Andrew Doyle.
“This stunning new rural facility is now a great reflection of the success of the brand here. In 2006, the market share of Audi was 12.9 percent, and this has now grown to 20 percent in 2009,” Mr Doyle said.
“This new facility was needed in order for the dealership to continue its growth path here, given the onslaught of new Audi models which are expected to arrive until 2015.
“Together with our partners, Bruce Stevenson and Allan Marsh, we believe Audi has a bright future in Launceston and this new dealership is the first major step towards market leadership here,” Mr Doyle said.
By 2010, every single Audi dealership around Australia will have undergone, or be in the midst, of major renovations, or complete rebuilds in line with the company’s dynamic growth strategy. In total, around $170 million will be invested in new facilities by the Audi dealer network around the country.
On Thursday 11 February 2010, the official opening will take place at the facility, located at 80 Hobart Road, Kings Meadow. Audi Ambassador and rugby legend, John Eales, will emcee the event.
Two brand new Audi models will make their debut for guests at the opening – including the new $350,000 Audi R8 V10 sports coupe and the new Audi A5 Sportback.
Catering is by The Delicacy and wines will be supplied by Josef Chromy.
