Miller Barrett Racing - Rolex 24 half-distance
Miller Barrett Racing had some strong stints during the second quarter of
the Rolex 24 At Daytona, but mechanical issues slowed the team's progress.
Bryce Miller took over driving duty in the No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car at
6h17. His was the fastest Porsche in the field as he lapped the 3.56-mile
Daytona International Speedway infield road course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Just before the seven-hour mark, he encountered problems with the car's
battery voltage, forcing an early pitstop to replace the alternator and
battery. Kevin Roush drove next, starting at 9h15, logging quick laps and
reporting the car was "'way better" than his first stint. Luke Hines took
over at 11h12, then stopped at the halfway mark for replacement of the car's
front brake pads, right-front radiator and nose. The car was 14th in the GT
class at half-distance.
