Toyota and Its Minnesota Dealers Sponsor the 'Drive For Education' Contest
Minnesota's High Schools Are Eligible To Win $50,000 In Grant Money
ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 22 -- Toyota and the Minnesota Toyota Dealers are supporting secondary education in Minnesota by sponsoring the "Drive For Education" contest.
To commemorate its twenty-first year of involvement with Minnesota high school students, the automaker and its local dealers are providing $50,000 in cash grants for this statewide competition. Toyota will help select 14 schools that can best demonstrate the need to use the funds toward the betterment of education in classrooms, facilities or student programs. Ultimately, two schools will win $10,000 each and 12 schools will receive $2,500 each. All winners will be announced during KSTC-TV, Chanel 45's coverage of the Boy's Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament, March 10-13, in St. Paul.
"We are excited to be sponsoring this worthwhile program," said Shawn Caso, Regional Merchandising Manager for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.'s Chicago sales office. "For more than two decades, Toyota and its dealers have donated more than $400,000 to further education in the state of Minnesota. We look forward to helping 14 deserving high schools bolster their educational programs and pursuits."
To enter the "Drive For Education" contest, students must write a short essay specifically detailing how their school could use the $2,500 and $10,000 prizes to enhance education, with specific monetary earmarks (e.g. towards a new facility, new equipment, teen education program or disability program). The entry form and contest information can be obtained by visiting www.kstc45.com and clicking on "Drive For Education" or by contacting Sarah Hall, Marketing Coordinator at KSTC-TV, at (651) 642-4378 or via email at shall@kstc45.com.
