TEAMSTERS TO RALLY AT ITALIAN CONSULATE
Workers Will Ask Fiat/Chrysler To Stop Killing American Jobs
After Taking Bailout Billions
(DETROIT) – Tomorrow morning members of Teamster Local 299 will rally outside the Italian Consulate in downtown Detroit. There, Teamsters will educate the public about Fiat/Chrysler's practices that are killing American jobs.
Fiat/Chrysler is moving work from its longtime new car delivery companies, which may lead to these carriers going out of business and the loss of 5,000 carhaul jobs, after taking $14 billion in U.S. taxpayer bailout money that was supposed to help the economy and save jobs. Calling Fiat/Chrysler a Global Bailout Bandit, the Teamsters are also rallying in solidarity with Italian workers, thousands of whom stand to lose their jobs at Fiat plants in Italy.
CarBuyersBeware.com has also issued a report about how Fiat/Chrysler's actions threaten jobs and could cause hidden damages to new vehicles. The report, "Damaged When Delivered?" can be found at www.CarBuyersBeware.com.
