FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, GERMANY – January 20, 2010: The small electric two-seater is making big headlines and will soon make its world debut. The Rinspeed UC? was conceived by Frank M. Rinderknecht and his company, Rinspeed, and should be darting through large cities in the very near future. The Swiss auto expert has been working on sustainability issues in the area of mobility for ten years. "We have accumulated a lot of experience in this area and were working on this issue before anyone else had even started thinking about mobility." Frank M. Rinderknecht sees himself as a modern-day pioneer in this area. That´s why he´s hooking up with another pioneer, who made e-cars a trade show theme last year.

´The electric avenue´ expo for sustainable mobility will be held for the second time from 3 to 6 June 2010 in Friedrichshafen. "We are the first trade fair organizers to bring this topic to the market", says trade show head Klaus Wellmann. Moving ahead through an alternative show concept: Electric vehicles create excitement in the automobile industry, rarely come up against resistance and the media are crazy about the topic. Journalists are excited about putting practical concept vehicles to the test. Everyone is talking about new engines, be they hybrids, plug-in-hybrids, fuel cells or lithium-ion batteries. "We are fully committed to electric power and want to be the leading electric engine trade show in Europe", say Klaus Wellmann and Frank M. Rinderknecht. "Only he, who defines his goal, can achieve it". Both are convinced that ´the electric avenue´ expo, which will be held simultaneously with the classic car event, Klassikwelt Bodensee, from Thursday, June 3 to Sunday, June 6, 2010, will raise the bar again this year.

Frank M. Rinderknecht believes the host city, Friedrichshafen, nestled between Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is tailor-made for this kind of international event: "Mobility reaches across borders". The trade show concept entails the presentation of the latest electric vehicles, large test tracks as well as congresses and symposia dedicated to current topics on the agenda. "All in all, this is an ideal networking forum for the industry", underscores Frank M. Rinderknecht. He himself is very well connected in electric engine scene. For him, it´s more than just about alternative engines; it´s also about an emotional message. "Electric engines engender a new driving pleasure; the fun of driving is experiencing new dimensions."

´The electric avenue´ expo for alternative engines wants to deliver on this claim again in 2010. The premiere in 2009 was extremely well-received. 42,000 visitors were captivated for four days by the new expo for sustainable mobility and by Klassikwelt Bodensee. Test driving was a top priority at ´the electric avenue´ expo. The many visitors, who took advantage of the opportunity to experience the ´take-off´ of an electric powered sports car or the acceleration of an e-bike or an electric scooter, were rewarded with pure driving fun.
