James Gué - Successful 2009 Season Leads To Full-Time Rolex GT seat in 2010

Alpharetta, January 5, 2009: The 2009 racing season wrapped up for James Gué in October with teammate Bret Seafuse finishing the year off with a win in the season finale of the Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series at VIR. The 2009 KONI Challenge season was a successful year for the duo, who have now raced together for 3 seasons. James and Bret scored an impressive 2 wins, 9 top five finishes in 11 races, and finished 2nd in the final points for the second year in a row.

In addition to competing in the full KONI Challenge Series, James also competed with Stevenson Motorsports in the 24 hours of Daytona in a Corvette GT car, unfortunately the car had gearbox and engine problems that resulted in a 12th place finish.

Looking forward to the 2010 season James looks to build on his success in 2009 by moving up to the Rolex GT class full time. James will be joining Dempsey Racing as it expands to a two car team; in addition to the familiar No. 40 Mazda RX-8 driven by team principals Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster, a brand-new Dempsey Racing No. 41 Mazda RX-8 GT will hit the track at the traditional Roar Before The Rolex 24 test event January 8-10, 2010. James will be competing for the full season with 2009 GT co-champion Leh Keen as his teammate for the year, with Don Kitch Jr and Dave Lacey joining them for the Rolex 24 hour race.

"What an opportunity we have to expand our team during such tough economic times and do it in a way that benefits both the Seattle Children's Hospital and the Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing in Maine," said team owner Dempsey. "On top of that to be able to bring Leh to our team as the current GT-class champion and team him up with James, who has clearly showed his stuff in KONI Challenge, means that we have two Mazda RX-8s that will be capable of running up front. We are very excited to get going with this new program and get to Daytona."

After a successful promotional partnership in 2009, Dempsey Racing will partner with Team Seattle and the Seattle Children's Hospital on the "traditional" Team Seattle Rolex 24 at Daytona effort, but this time continue the branding and charitable promotion throughout the entire season. Season-long support for the No. 41 Mazda also comes from new Dempsey Racing partner JG Sport LLC, John and Jeri Graham and Global Diving & Salvage of Seattle, Washington.
