Corona, December 31, 2009: Don't miss the Rockstar Energy Lucas Oil Challenge Cup in High Definition on NBC this Saturday, January 2nd at 2:30 p.m. ET (11:30 a.m. Pacific). This special one hour episode features a unique format that combines classes, normally run separately throughout the season, racing for the largest combined purse ever offered in the history of short course off road racing.

The event, held in Lake Elsinore, California, features 2009 double class champion, Carl Renezeder competing in his Unlimited 4 (850+hp 4 Wheel Drive) truck vying for the Challenge Cup title to cap off his incredible season. Challenging Renezeder in this Unlimited 2 (2 Wheel Drive 850+hp) Unlimited 4 battle are the formidable team of brothers Todd and Kyle LeDuc campaigning trucks in both classes. With off road veteran Rob MacCachren, young gun Bryce Menzies and the season's largest field of off road all stars on the same track contending for the sport's ultimate prize, the racing is certain to be intense.

Adding to the excitement, this event brings together the heavy metal of the 300hp Unlimited Lite trucks facing off with the lighter, more nimble 225hp open wheel Unlimited Buggies. U-Lite stars Rob Naughton and Metal Mulisha General Brian Deegan lead the charge against a swarm of buggy drivers eager to mix it up on the track for the huge payday and class bragging rights.
