MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY GETS A COMPLETE MAKEOVER AS IT RETURNS AS AN ASA MEMBER TRACK
IN 2010

AMERICAN SPEED ASSOCIATION PR
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, December 31, 2009) - The snow is covering it up now,
but come this spring fans of Meridian Speedway, an ASA Member Track located 10 miles
west of Boise in Meridian, Idaho, will have a new look for the 2010 racing season.
While it will have a new look one thing that will not change is their participation
in the ASA Member Track program.
The new look comes from the new asphalt that was placed at the end of the 2009 season,
"All of the paving is done," Adam Nelson, Meridian Speedway Promoter exclaimed.
"The pits, track and the grandstand area all got new paving which is now covered
up in snow. All we are doing now is waiting for the paint striper to come in the
spring."
The Speedway offers a variety of racing as 13 different divisions compete throughout
the season giving the fans a unique variety every Saturday night and some Friday
nights. Their 2010 season will open on April 17th and run every Saturday night,
except for June 19th, until September 18th.
Nelson is excited be back as an ASA Member Track as he enters his second year of
promoting Meridian Speedway, "We are all looking forward to the season. This is
our second year here at Meridian so we have a lot of our bugs worked from the past
season. It's been pretty seamless," Nelson said. "The racers and customers are
happy with all of the improvements thanks to all of our partners. The partners
like nice things so they will do what it takes to make the place look nice."
The decision to renew as an ASA Member Track really wasn't a tough decision but
he did do his homework and realized it was an easy one to make, "I don't think the
decision was all that tough, we spent a few months looking at all of the other options
out there and there is definitely not a package that puts the coverage together
like the ASA Member Track program does," Nelson explained. "We are happy to be
back! We wanted to make sure that ASA had the best of everything from insurance,
point fund, service and more. We put it to the test and made an easy decision that
it is."
He has also seen how well the program has worked for his racers as well, "We had
a couple guys that had to use the insurance last year and the guys appreciated
it because claims got paid and they got taken care of. On that note they are happy,"
Nelson said.
"Meridian Speedway is a long standing ASA Member Track and we are glad to have them
back," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "It is a first class facility especially
with the latest improvements they have made. I am glad that they looked at all
of the options out there and chose the ASA Member Track program. It's a testament
to what all of our partners, tracks, and series have seen with our goal to provide
the best for everyone involved in motorsports."

ASA members in good standing are eligible for a $500,000 Excess Medical Benefit
as well as a $20,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit. Coverage for the
member begins while traveling to a location promoting an ASA-sanctioned event and
continues until arrival home again. The American Speed Association, in conjunction
with WSIB Motorsports Insurance, is the only sanctioning body to offer insurance
coverage which extends beyond the boundary of the racetrack itself (complete details
are available online at www.ASA-Racing.com).
The ASA Member Track program is comprised of more than 35 short tracks around the
United States, as well as a variety of regional and national touring series. For
