Advanced Refining Concepts Completes First Stage of Construction on 100,000 Gallon Per Day GDieselTM Production Plant

RENO, Nev.--Advanced Refining Concepts, LLC, (ARC), a privately held developer and manufacturer of proprietary motor and industrial fuels, today announced that construction on the first stage of its 100,000 gallon per day GDieselTM production plant in Northern Nevada has been completed and the second stage of construction has commenced. The facility, named Peru Heights, sits on 10 acres owned by the company at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, located 10 miles east of Reno, Nevada.

“The energetic efforts put forth by our staff and contractors as well as the continued positive support from the officials in Storey County made this rate of progress possible.”

Significant milestones completed during the first stage of construction at the facility included securing the Special Use Permit, site design work, mass grading, grading and paving a half-mile access road and completing feed and product tank pads.

The second stage of construction will include the connection of the natural gas main, erection of the metal structure that will house the fuel production units, erection of the feed and process tanks, site paving, rail spur construction and the completion of all site piping.

“We are encouraged with the timely completion of the first stage of construction, especially considering the unusually frigid temperatures and heavy snowfall associated with a severe winter storm earlier in the month,” said Peter Gunnerman, co-founder of Advanced Refining Concepts. “The energetic efforts put forth by our staff and contractors as well as the continued positive support from the officials in Storey County made this rate of progress possible.”

The company’s ClearRefiningTM fuel production equipment, which incorporates a proprietary pollution-free process for liquefying natural gas and other biogases, will be installed at the facility as part of the third construction stage scheduled to begin in mid-January. The equipment has been assembled and prepared for shipping at ARC’s 53,000 square foot plant in Sparks, Nevada.

“ARC’s revolutionary modular plant design incorporates low temperature and low pressure equipment and allows for timing and capital costs, which are an order of magnitude faster and less expensive than traditional crude oil based refineries,” said Gunnerman.

The Peru Heights facility remains on schedule for completion and start-up during the first quarter of 2010.

About Advanced Refining Concepts, LLC
