Strategy Analytics: 2010 Infiniti M35 Provides Compelling Entertainment Features
BOSTON--During a recent user evaluation of the 2010 Infiniti M35 entertainment and navigation features, consumers were impressed with the ease of use of the radio, CD, and iPod functions, but some had difficulty entering navigation destinations. The recent Strategy Analytics Automotive Consumer Insights benchmark report, “Vehicle Entertainment and Navigation User Evaluation: 2010 Inifiniti M35,” evaluates the user experience for this car’s entertainment and navigation features.
“They expressed a desire for the additional capability to record individual songs instead of entire discs.”
Many Infinity M35 features impressed the Strategy Analytics user panel, especially the built-in iPod connection and controls. However, users encountered several minor usability issues, including:
- an expectation that radio tuning would be done through the Infiniti Controller,
- an expectation that for destination entry, the street number and house can be entered in the same field,
- frequent errors in speech recognition, and
- an inability to interrupt prompts in speech recognition.
“While consumers liked the ability to record CDs to the vehicle’s internal hard drive,” commented Chris Schreiner, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics. “They expressed a desire for the additional capability to record individual songs instead of entire discs.”
Kevin Nolan, Vice President of the Strategy Analytics User Experience Practice, added, “Users also felt that the touchscreen display was too far to reach, particularly while driving.”
