PALMETTO, Fla., Dec. 22, 2009: Andersen Racing is pleased to announce that it has signed driver Anders Krohn to contest the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear in 2010.

The agreement reunites the driver from Sandnes, Norway with the team he drove for in winning nine races enroute to the Rookie of the Year and the drivers’ title in the F2000 Championship Series presented by Hoosier Racing Tire in 2008. The Palmetto, Fla.-based team finished one-two in that series that year with Krohn and another driver, Jonny Baker, and won its 2008 team championship.

Krohn was a member of another team for his rookie Star Mazda season in 2009. He won the race at the Milwaukee Mile and finished sixth in this year’s Star Mazda driver point standings.

Krohn’s primary sponsors in 2010 will be Trallfa Industries, Colosseum Dental and Norse Cutting & Abandonment. Other partners in the effort will be Bring Logistics US Inc., ZAT Graphics.com, SR Transport, Rioja Tapas Restaurant, Repcon Media and Racing for Kids.

Krohn and the staff of Andersen Racing are delighted that an arrangement could be made for Krohn to return to the team in 2010.

“My entire crew wanted Anders back with us, and I am so pleased we could work it all out,” said team co-owner Dan Andersen. ‘We’re extremely happy to welcome Anders back into the family for 2010. Our experience with Anders in 2008 proved to us what an amazing talent he is. Though circumstances had him racing for another team last season, we remained fans of his, and we are confident that he will bring us many victories while challenging for the championship in 2010.”

Krohn is doubly happy. He is glad to return to the Andersen Racing stable, and that he can relax in Norway over the Christmas holiday secure in the knowledge that his 2010 racing plans have been finalized.

“I’m extremely happy about the program we’ve put together, and it feels good to have something in place this early,” said Krohn, 22. “I would like to thank Mundill Racing for everything they did for me this year, but being back with Andersen Racing for 2010 feels great because they’re the people who gave me my first shot in the U.S. racing scene. It’s the best possible Christmas present for me. Now my eyes are 100 percent directed towards the upcoming season. I’m confident we’ll have a fantastic year.

“It feels great being back with Andersen Racing and following their internal ladder system,” added Krohn, referring to Andersen Racing’s unique, comprehensive program that uses karting, Star Mazda and Firestone Indy Lights to prepare drivers for careers as professional race car drivers. A sister company, Andersen Promotions, will also administer a new Indy Racing League-sanctioned F2000 series called “The Cooper Tires presents the USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda” in 2010. It is part of both the IRL’s Road to Indy program and the MAZDASPEED Motorsports driver development system.

“I'm very fortunate to be with a team like this, and I will do my utmost to make sure I take advantage of the opportunity I have been given,” said Krohn. “I know everyone at Andersen Racing, and they're just a great bunch of guys with the knowledge, experience and the right personalities to make it happen. I appreciate the opportunity Dan and the rest of the team have created for my partners and me. If it were up to me, the 2010 season would start tomorrow. I'm ready!"

Although Krohn plans to test with the team next month, he’ll have to wait until March 19 for the 2010 season opener. It is a support event for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in Sebring, Fla.

Both Andersen and Baker, who is now the team’s director of driver development, said that they’ve been impressed not only with Krohn’s on-track performances, but also with the way he works hard to provide excellent value to his marketing partners.

“Having such a large and varied group of partners is essential to making this campaign hit the ground running, and I feel blessed to be surrounded with such quality and results-oriented companies,” said Krohn. “Having Trallfa and Colosseum join me for a fourth year as main sponsors means a lot to me. Norse Cutting & Abandonment [NCA] signing up to be a part of the team is very exciting, and I look forward to beginning my relationship with them. NCA is an international service provider for the oil and gas industry, and it has projects in all corners of the world. We hope to announce additional marketing partners soon too.”
