Corona, December 18, 2009: The battle for Rockstar Energy Lucas Oil Challenge Cup crown will take place this weekend, December 18th and 19th at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex. Postponed a week to renew the facility to ideal conditions after significant rain storms, the event brings short course off road racing's best together for the final time in 2009 to compete for the biggest total purse ever offered in off road racing.

The Rockstar Energy Lucas Oil Challenge Cup is a unique event combining classes, normally run separately throughout the season, for a chance at the trophy a huge payday and the title. Although their vehicles share similarities, these races will match man and machine against unfamiliar competition on the high flying Lake Elsinore, California track.

During the regular season, Carl Renezeder was the man to beat in both Unlimited 2 (2WD 800+ HP Truck) and Unlimited 4 (4WD 800+ HP Truck) fields taking season championships in both classes. But the LeDuc brothers, Todd in his Unlimited 2 and Kyle in Unlimited 4, both proved to be forces to recon with during their previous visits to Lake Elsinore. They will now be on the track together banging doors with Renezeder and the stars of short course for the $30,000 top prize offered to each class while the single overall race winner will take home the coveted Challenge Cup Trophy. Bryce Menzies, having taken big wins in the 2009 season, along with veteran Rob MacCachren and Unlimited 2 season series runner up Jeff Ward will all be arriving in Lake Elsinore with huge expectations.

For this very special event, the forces of the 3,500 pound, 300hp Unlimited Lite truck and 2,300lb, 225hp Unlimited Buggy classes will converge for the first time ever on a short course off road racetrack. With an extraordinary $35,000 up for grabs to the winner along with class bragging rights, this all our war on dirt is sure to leave broken parts and bent metal in its wake. Leading the charge in his Unlimited Buggy is 2009 season champion Chuck Cheek. Cheek will be facing Unlimited Lite champion Brian Deegan, runner-up Rob Naughton and a motivated Chris Brandt.

XGames Superstar Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg will be making his first appearance in short course off road racing in the Bully Dog SuperLite class. As the freestyle medalist makes the transition from two to four wheels, he will be facing class champion John Harrah, Chad Leising and a seasoned SuperLite field vying for a $20,000 purse with $10,000 going to the top spot. The event will also feature a strong Limited Buggy field led by season champ Bruce Fraley with $6,000 up for grabs.

The Challenge Cup races will be held on Saturday, December 19th and be sure to catch the practice, qualifying and elimination races on Friday, December 18th. Tickets, good for both days, are just $30 for Adults while child's admission (4-12) is $10. Gates open at 9am both days. Tickets are available at the box office or in advance at Lucasoiloffroad.com
