Flexpoint Announces Use of Sensors for Commercial Trucks

DRAPER, Utah--Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT) announced that they are working with a European supplier of fuel management systems on the development of a sensor to be utilized in fuel systems designed to produce significant fuel savings for fleets of large trucks.

The advantages of the Bend Sensor in this application are its abilities to handle exposure to the fuel without degradation and its ease of installation. The single layer construction, overall durability, and its chemical resistant properties make the Bend Sensor® a good solution for this type of application. According to the European supplier’s estimates there are six million fleet trucks in Europe and approximately ten million trucks in the US that would benefit from the system. With fuel costs being such a major contributing factor in shipping costs, a system that provides a significant cost savings should be attractive to fleet operators.

Clark Mower, President of Flexpoint Sensor Systems, stated, “This is an exciting and innovative use of our technology. We have recently supplied a second iteration prototype sensor that is now being tested by the Company. We expect that the tests for this sensor will be as positive as the initial tests and we anticipate receipt of a production order after the tests are completed. We are excited to be gaining so much traction in multiple industries and expect to be delivering sensors to this market in 2010."
