Honda Announces New Pricing
TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA : Honda Australia will pass on import duty savings on many of its popular models to new car buyers effective immediately. This is 30 days ahead of the Federal Governments tariff reduction on imported passenger cars from 10 to 5 per cent scheduled for January 1st 2010.
This will result in savings of between $1,500 and $3,000 on Japanese and UK sourced models.
We are pleased to pass on these savings on award winning models such as the Accord Euro and Odyssey to our customers a month early, said Honda Australias General Manager Sales & Marketing, Mr. Stephen Collins.
The Honda City light sedan has been re-positioned, now starting at $19,490 for the VTi manual.
Hondas Thai built models are ineligible for the duty decrease, due to the existing Free Trade Agreement between Australia and Thailand.
Four-wheel drive vehicles are currently subject to an import duty of five percent and will not receive any further reductions.
The duty savings are applicable at all Honda dealerships from Tuesday December 1st 2009
