Family Car Buyers Get What They Want

MELBOURNE December 01, 2009 : Today marks the launch of an Australian first, a website dedicated to the needs of family car buyers called FamilyCar.com.au

Melissa Pye, Founder of FamilyCar.com.au, says that it has been her 20 years of automotive industry experience and listening to people, particularly women, that has led to the birth of this new online resource for family car buyers.

Women have a massive influence on family car purchases, being involved in 92% of family car decisions.

�Buying your first family car can be very daunting. A lot of us are cruising around in our small hatches and 2 door cars when we decide to have a family. Until now, there has been no place where people could go to research their family car,� says Melissa.

Family car provides reviews on suitable family cars, buying and selling tips, child restraint information, travel tips as well as the latest in car safety. The site will continue to grow and offer additional functionality over the coming year.

�We take a unique approach to writing our car reviews. We focus on the items that are of importance to families such as boot space, ease of getting kids in and out, storage, fuel efficiency and of course safety� says Melissa

Melissa is in a unique position in the industry. She is one of the only female motoring writers who have kids. Her 7 year old twin daughters, Summer and Piper, also get involved with the reviews, giving a child�s perspective.

�While my girls are only 7, it is amazing what they pick up on and what they do and don�t like. For example they don�t like seats that are too deep where they cannot see out properly and they love cup holders and storage compartments in the rear seats!� says Melissa.
