Greg Anderson Addresses Rumors on Team Owner
Ken Black’s health

Mooresville, N.C., December 9, 2009 – Following a spate of on-line reports about the health of his team owner Ken Black, Summit Racing Pontiac driver Greg Anderson took time on Wednesday to provide some clarification. Denying rumors of an apparent heart attack, Anderson confirmed that the KB Racing founder had suffered a stroke that had landed him in the hospital.

“Over the last few days, there has been a lot of speculation about Ken’s health,?? said Anderson. “Naturally, we would have preferred to keep this matter private, but with Ken being such a prominent and popular member of the drag racing community, it simply wasn’t possible. Although we have already been in contact with Summit and many of our key sponsors and vendors, rather than letting these unconfirmed reports continue to multiply, we decided to bring everyone up-to-date.

“First and foremost, Ken did not have a heart attack. However, he did suffer a stroke just over a week ago from which he is recovering. Without going into tremendous detail, I can tell you that he is awake, alert and working on his recuperation with his doctors in the hospital.

“At this point, I ask that you keep Ken, his wife Judy and the entire Black family in your prayers. I would also ask that you kindly respect the family’s wishes for privacy, allowing Ken to continue his recuperation undisturbed, and thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. We will provide updates on his condition as warranted, and ask that you contact our team representatives with any further questions.??
