MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – November 18, 2009: As the season draws to a close, round 7 of the Pizza Capers MINI Challenge series heads west to Barbagello, Perth for an exciting weekend of racing.

Home to the Glory Team and Nathan Carattii, the front runners of the MINI Challenge series will be sure to be chasing the man with the home turf advantage.

Employing the dual driver format, introduced successfully for the first time in Townsville, will again be adopted to attract even more drivers, greater depth and even more spirited competition.

Adding to the already competitive and close-knit field, the Barbagello round of MINI Challenge will see Guy Andrews exchange his extreme athletic prowess for a dash to the finish line in the Uber-Star MINI. Teaming up with Guy, MINI Challenge will also welcome back Leanne Tander who will take to the Uber-Star car for the second time.

The duo arrives with impressive motorsport backgrounds that will be sure to make them an instant and respected competitor amongst MINI Challenge drivers such as the current series leader Paul Stokell, Grant Denyer, Scott Bargwanna and Chris Alajajian.

A supreme athlete conditioned to extreme feats on the beach, the water and in the raw wilderness of the great outdoors, Guy Andrews is a competitor with only one goal in mind – to win. Known best for his multiple Uncle Toby’s Ironman Super Series victories and for radical feats such as completing seven marathons in seven states in seven days, Guy Andrews also brings to the Challenge notable motorsport experience from Rally Tasmania, GT Production and the Grand Prix Celebrity Challenge.

Already recognised as one of the country’s leading female racing drivers, Leanne Tander returns to Barbagello after making her MINI Challenge debut at the same circuit in 2008. Leanne brings a wealth of motorsport experience ranging from Formula Ford, V8 Supercars and the Australian Production Car Championship, just to name a few. Together with Leanne’s MINI Challenge experience at Barbegello, where she managed to qualify second fastest in 2008, the formidable duo will be out there to bring the Uber-Star car home for its first ever victory.
