Team Mopar(r)'s Johnson Jumps to No. 2 Spot After Friday Qualifying at
NHRA Finals

Pomona, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2009) - Team Mopar(r) NHRA Full Throttle Pro
Stock driver Allen Johnson rocketed from No.10 all the way to the No. 2
spot today after the second round of qualifying for the Automobile Club
of Southern California NHRA Finals. Johnson will have two final
qualifying sessions tomorrow at Auto Club Raceway in which to move up to
the top spot and claim his eighth career No. 1 Qualifier Award.

Johnson steered his Mopar/J&J Racing Dodge Stratus R/T to the No. 10
spot after the opening round of qualifying on Thursday, with a pass of
6.658-seconds at 207.88 mph. The Greeneville, Tenn., native was much
more pleased, to say the least, with his pass today of 6.611/209.78,
which placed him No. 1 until Mike Edwards, in the final pair of Pro
Stock qualifiers, knocked Johnson down a notch to No. 2.

"We went back to about a year's worth of data," said Johnson of the
adjustments co-crew chiefs Mark Ingersoll and Jeff Perley made to his
Mopar HEMI(r)-powered Dodge. "There's nothing on this car that was on
there yesterday. I think we got her back. It worked. We killed it down
low. It didn't run out the back like we thought it would, but other than
one car, we kicked everybody's butts.

"We're happy. We're back to our baseline, and right now that baseline
looks pretty good. There's a couple hundredths [of a second] left in the
Mopar Dodge. We'll try to find them tomorrow."

Mopar-powered Pro Stockers Rickie Jones and Johnny Gray clocked in at
No. 11 and No. 12, respectively, after Friday qualifying. Eliminations
for the NHRA Finals are set for Sunday, Nov. 15.
