AVL Powertrain Engineering Announces Hansell as Director of Sales, Marketing and Program Management
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Nov. 12, 2009 -- AVL Powertrain Engineering, Inc. has promoted Dwight Hansell to Director of Sales, Marketing and Program Management, announced President Ray Corbin. "Dwight brings the uncompromising customer focus and team leadership we need to deliver the highest level of service to our customers. By combining Sales, Marketing, and Program Management under Dwight, we have a focused team from initial contact with the customer to final project or product delivery," said Corbin.
"As AVL continues to expand into full powertrain offerings and serve multiple markets, we needed someone with Dwight's leadership, experience and education to take on new challenges and expand in innovative areas of business," said Corbin. "Dwight understands the importance of maintaining our leadership position in our core areas while boosting our expansion into crucial technology and market areas such as electrification of the powertrain and military wheeled vehicles."
Hansell joined AVL Powertrain Engineering in 2003 with over 20 years of experience. Prior to this promotion, he held the position Director of Program Management. He served on the AVL management team, championed strategy and business plan development and served as Director of Alternative Energy markets and Government Compliance Officer.
Previous to AVL, Hansell worked for Ballard Power Systems Corporation as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Electric Drives Group. Prior to this he held multiple positions within Raychem Corporation -- including Director of North American Sales and Marketing. In addition, during his career Hansell held several positions within the Delco Remy Division of General Motors Corporation.
Hansell received a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University on a GM Fellowship, and a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering from the University of Illinois.
