Averna Announces New Portable DOCSIS 3.0 Protocol Analyzer

MONTREAL, Oct. 27, 2009 -- Averna, global test engineering company and makers of the world's only commercially available DOCSIS 3.0 protocol analyzer, has announced a new portable model that provides mobile troubleshooting and network monitoring capabilities for the cable Multiple System Operator (MSO) market. Certification labs, chipset makers, product developers, and cable operators around the globe already use Averna's fourth-generation DP-360 DOCSIS 3.0 Protocol Analyzer solutions.

Building on the success of previous generations of the DP-360, this new product addresses multiple needs of cable operators as they deploy DOCSIS 3.0 into their networks. It gives a concurrent view of multiple network protocol layers, helping operators quickly collect real-time data for preventative maintenance, producing performance metrics, DOCSIS trending, and network verification.

Averna will be unveiling the DP-360 portable at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo booth 14041 in Denver, Colorado on October 28, 2009. The product will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2010.
