Sites Wins Street Stock 50-lapper Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic at SSP on Sunday Night; Zook and Buck Also Claim Wins

Newberrytown, PA (October 25, 2009) - Kory Sites of Mechanicsburg led all fifty laps of the Street Stock main event to earn $3,000 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Sunday night. The Street Stock feature was one of three divisions featured at the 6th Annual Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic presented in part with Insinger Performance Fuels. Mifflintown's Jason Zook was declared winner of the Xtreme Stock Car 40 lapper after the race winner Sam Rial was disqualified in post race technical inspection. Annville's Ronnie Buck led the final two circuits of the 30-lap Four Cylinder Stock Car feature to claim the victory.

The popular 6th annual Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday (Oct. 23 and 24) was been postponed by rain to Sunday afternoon. The one-day show featuring the Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and the Four Cylinder Stock Cars saw no purse change (decrease) for the event despite going from a two-day event to a one-day event.

In victory lane, Sites had the opportunity to win another $25,000 by picking the correct two envelopes from twenty envelopes. Sites came very close as one of the two envelopes chosen had the $25,000 winner message inside.

The 50-lap Street Stock feature event began with Randy Zechman and Kory Sites bringing the field to the green flag. Sites grabbed the early lead. Starting in seventh position, Jim Palm, Jr. moved into the runner-up spot on lap 12 as Sites entered lapped traffic. Lap 15 found Palm glued to the rear bumper of Sites. Throughout the remainder of the race, Palm tried high and low every lap, but could not make the winning pass over Sites. After a few cautions over the final 30 laps, Sites brought the field to the checkered to claim his first Miller's Racing Parts Fall Classic win. Palm finished second but failed post race technical inspection, relinquishing the runner-up spot to last year's winner Doug Hoffman. Randy Zechman finished third, followed by 2009 SSP Track Champion Scott Thunberg. Craig Morgan rounded out the top five. Bob Scott, Jr., winner of the B-Main, also claimed the Hard Charger award after starting 21st and finishing seventh. Heat race wins went to Zechman, Sites, Morgan and Chad Smith.

2009 SSP Xtreme Stock Car Track Champion, Sam Rial started on the pole and grabbed the early lead. Last year's race winner Jason Zook started beside Rial and pressured him throughout the entire race. Despite seven caution periods, Zook came close but never completed the pass for the lead. Rial won the 40-lap race after leading every circuit but failed post-race technical inspection. Zook claimed his second straight Miller's Racing Parts XSC Fall Classic victory at SSP. Tommy Slanker finished second after winning the B-Main and starting 21st in the race. Don Murphy finished third after coming from the rear with a flat tire on lap 15. Brad Mitch started 11th to finish fourth and Tim Hahn, the first alternate to make the race after Brian Hauenstein could not start, finished fifth from his 25th starting position. Heat race wins went to Rial, Zook, Murphy, Stephen Ramsey and Travis Horan. Patrick McClane won the C-Main.

John Stoll, Jr. rocketed into the lead from his third starting position at the beginning of the 30-lap Four Cylinder Stock Car feature event. Stoll led the first 10 laps with a wild scramble for the next nine positions behind him. Stoll was forced to retire from the event with mechanical failure on lap 11, which turned the lead over to Ed Hollenbach. Hollenbach set sail, keeping the rest of the field at bay behind him. When the two laps to-go signal came out, Hollenbach began to fade with a tire going flat. Ronnie Buck shot by Hollenbach and held on for the victory over Leroy Long, Eric Seibert, Bryan Michael and Justin Good. Hollenbach held on to finish ninth. Heat race wins went to Stoll and Dave Leidy, Jr.

The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south.
