AUBURN, Calif.--ClipperCreek, Inc. announced today that it is introducing a new model electric vehicle charging station available for under $1,000.

“This product is to answer the call by our customers to start installing cost effective public charging stations now”, said Dave Packard, President of ClipperCreek. “Our customers are able to serve their customers, complete 90% of the installation work, and be ready for a simple upgrade when the new plug is available early next year.”

ClipperCreek also announced it will have a fully compatible SAE-J1772™ Level 2 upgrade package available for $2,000 in early 2010. Like all of ClipperCreek products, this unit will be UL listed.

This new product, which is suitable for most of the Plug-In Hybrid conversions on the road today, is designed for use by fleets and for commercial, retail and workplace charging. Combined with the upgrade package it will provide the only UL listed SAE-J1772™ compatible Level 2 charge station. The pedestal provided is to the industry standard footprint and can be interchanged with outdated EV infrastructure.

This is the fourth product ClipperCreek has introduced. The company’s other three product include its TS and CS Level 2 EVSEs designed to cover public, fleet, commercial and residential installations, and its PCS, a portable in-cord device.
