Lexus of Richmond Introduces the Hybrid Experience

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 21, 2009 -- While the Lexus HS 250h debuted in September, Lexus of Richmond introduced it in typical Lexus style so clients could see firsthand the amazing technology of the new Lexus HS 250h.

Lexus of Richmond hosted the "Lexus of Richmond Hybrid Experience" at the Foundry Golf Club in Fine Creek, Virginia. Tim Dale, Head Golf Pro said, "The Foundry golf course has just reopened after extensive renovations. Our club was able to take advantage of environmentally friendly technologies as it relates to maintaining grasses, water conservation and a smarter golf course design. Our goal of being an ecologically friendly golf club made us the perfect location to host the Lexus of Richmond Hybrid Experience."

Continuing the environmental theme, Sally Schmidt, Executive Chef at the Foundry said, "We are in an era of a new luxury. Ten years ago it was about Kobe beef from Japan or French wines. Today we have local and organic foods from the farm down the street. It's a smarter, more sensitive world."

General Sales Manager at Lexus of Richmond, Tom Flood shared, "The Lexus of Richmond Hybrid Experience has been in the works for over a year. The Lexus HS 250h is the first and only built from the ground up luxury hybrid in the world so we knew it was imperative to hold a debut that was befitting a vehicle of this caliber."

"The Experience" evening was one of education, organic foods, organic wines and the debut of the new HS 250h (the fourth Lexus Hybrid). The most exciting part of the fun-filled evening was capturing the moment on film. Guests and Lexus owners shared their comments about the HS 250h and there was overwhelming support for hybrid luxury solutions. They also liked hearing that 30% of the plastic components in the vehicle are ecological plastics, in that they are derived from plants and not petroleum based. This is just another way to have less of an impact on the environment.
