Media Alert - Risk of Deer-Vehicle Collisions Escalates

Recent rains have delayed harvesting activities for many farmers across many areas of the United States. Now, after a short period of dryness, farm fields across the nation have become busy places.

One result of this increased harvesting activity is that deer are being flushed out of farm fields. Drivers should always be on the lookout for deer, but that caution might be particularly advisable right now.

A recent State Farm Insurance news release included data showing the extent to which deer-vehicle collisions have increased in the U.S. in recent years and showing in which states deer-vehicle collisions are most likely.
