New Head of Operations Arrives for Launch of New Transporter

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – October 21, 2009: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has appointed Matthew Bowden as Head of Operations responsible for new and used vehicle sales and managing the development of the Volkswagen Van Centre network.

Matthew will transfer from his current role as National Fleet Sales Manager for Volkswagen Passenger Cars to start with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in November. Matthew joined Volkswagen Financial Services in 1995 before moving to Passenger Cars in 1999 as Fleet Operations Manager; in 2004 he undertook a three-year overseas assignment with Shanghai Volkswagen in China establishing a planning function.

Commenting on his new appointment, Matthew said: ‘I’m really excited to be joining Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at such a key stage in its development. With the launch of the new Transporter and the Amarok pick-up next year, my ambition is to do everything possible to ensure my team and our Van Centre network make the most of the great opportunities ahead.’

Matthew replaces Duncan Sands who left Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to join the Wayside retail group as Commercial Director.
