Eco-Marathon Americas(TM)
Student Fuel Efficiency Challenge to Take Place Spring 2010
WHAT: In 2010, students will design, build, and test cars capable
of thousands of miles per gallon.
Shell Oil Company President Marvin Odum and Houston City
Council Member James Rodriguez, District I, to announce plans
for the 2010 Shell Eco-marathon Americas, a challenge for
students to design and build vehicles that use the least
amount of energy to travel the farthest distance. University
of Houston Alum Michael Jasch will also be on hand to share
the team's Eco-marathon experience and expectations for the
spring 2010 event. All parties will take questions from
media immediately following.
And, following the teleconference, members of the University
of Houston team along with Mark Singer, Global Project
Manager for the Shell Eco-marathon, and Council Member
Rodriguez will be in front of City Hall with the U of H team,
their 2009 vehicle, and two Shell high-mileage vehicles for
photo and interview opportunities.
