Cybercom Group: A Major International Truck Manufacturer Selects Cybercom for a Unique Environmental Project

STOCKHOLM--Regulatory News:

A world-leading truck manufacturer chose Cybercom (STO:CYBE) to supply the control electronics for trucks that will be test driven in a unique environmental project during 2010-2012.

Cybercom will develop and deliver the control electronics for several trucks. The trucks will be evaluated in field tests and are part of a broad collaborative project for Bio-DME, a fuel with low environmental impact and high energy efficiency.

“The automotive industry faces major technical challenges in the development of alternative drivelines,” says Patrik Boman, president and CEO of the Cybercom Group. “It's inspirational for us at Cybercom to partner with one of the world’s largest truck manufacturers in taking such meaningful steps toward CO2-neutral road transport. Our long-term close partnership with the customer in developing innovative technical solutions helped us close this deal."

The control electronics for the Bio-DME trucks is based on FPGA (field programmable gate array) technology. In addition to fast response time and reliability, FPGA also offers significant flexibility to quickly and easily modify the functionality and evaluate new solutions, important parameters for field testing of new motor technologies.

“Cybercom is a recognized provider of technical solutions and embedded systems and we have operations worldwide," says Patrik Björler, account manager at Cybercom. “We’re following a conscious strategy to stay on the forefront and push development of alternative drivelines such as electric and hybrid vehicles and fuel cell technology. We know that automotive electronics play an important role in creating value and differentiating a product from the crowd.”
