BMW Motorrad Sales Continue to Climb

MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – October 13, 2009: September marked yet another month of growth for BMW Motorrad in Australia, increasing its year to date growth to 16 per cent versus 2008.
The significance of this growth is highlighted by the latest industry figures that show the market in decline, down 14 per cent compared to the same period last year.
With 211 customer deliveries, BMW Motorrad achieved its strongest month of 2009 achieving consecutive monthly growth since July.
The 'Road' segment continues to develop for BMW and is up14 per cent with volume success from a wide range of models, including the K 1300 S, K 1300 R, K 1300 GT, R 1200 GS and entire F Series line-up.
In its first month in the market BMW's latest naked model, the F 800 R won the hearts of customers selling all available stock in the network, with further quantities expected to arrive in October. The R 1200 GS, R 1200 RT and G 450 X model incentives continue to offer customers unrivalled value in the market.
So far this year BMW Motorrad has delivered 1,343 motorcycles to Australian customers and is already holding a rapidly building order bank for the pending S 1000 RR due in March 2010.
