Hectic Month Helps Establish New Mazda Dealership
DARTFORD, UNITED KINGDOM – October 12, 2009: One new Mazda dealer has discovered very quickly why the company is rapidly becoming the franchise of choice for businesses looking to expand their portfolio. Glen Henderson, based in Ayr, Scotland, opened for business on September 1 and by the end of the month reported sales that were 300 per cent above target.
“We had to keep revising our business plan. It’s been fantastic, way above my expectations,” said dealer principal Calum Watson. “First month sales have kept our sales and aftersales team very busy.”
It wasn’t just the sales that impressed Watson and his team, “Mazda is a fantastic company to do business with and we’ve had a staggering first month from a standing start,” said Watson. “Even more impressive was the fact that the sales came across the range, including Mazda MX-5, and not just from Mazda2 and Mazda3.”
Glen Henderson’s is a long-established business that has been associated with prestige brands for more than 40 years with an enviable reputation for customer satisfaction. Glen Henderson is proud of being No:1 in Scotland for Aftersales Customer Satisfaction with the Mercedes-Benz network for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles, a trend they hope to follow with Mazda.
Their efforts helped Mazda to achieve record monthly sales in Scotland of 1,556 units. The previous record was set in March 2007 when sales totalled 1,520. It also meant that Glen Henderson’s Mazda team were part of a record month for Mazda in the UK with sales of more than 11,140 units, the best single sales month since Mazda arrived in the UK in the 1960s.
