M.O.R.E. (Mohave Off-Road Racing Enthusiast) Announces the 4th Annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure

LADY RACERS INVADE BARSTOW

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7 -- Join hundreds of women racers & their families at the 4th Annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure. Created by M.O.R.E. the Race for the Cure is one of the industry's largest women dominated races in the country in support of Cedars-Sinai Women's Breast Cancer Research Center, and, supported by the title sponsor Royal Synthetic Lubricants. This year's event is set for: October 9th -- 10th, 2009 in Barstow, California. Meet the female drivers on Friday, October 9th at the Tech & Contingency at the Barstow Factory Mall from 4 PM to 9 PM. Saturday, October 10th the Race begins at 8 AM and continues until 4 PM.

Last year, the race reached an all time high with more than 160 teams racing and donations raised more than $167,839 for Cedars-Sinai Breast Cancer Research Center. This year the goal is to raise $200,000 plus. The Powder Puff Race for the Cure is the largest all women driver event which brings teams in from all over the country. All vehicles in the race run a 20-mile loop and compete with Vehicles split up into two different heats.

The Cedars-Sinai Breast Cancer Research Center reports that breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in the United States. One study suggests, that breast cancer is second only to lung cancer in cancer-related deaths; estimating more than 180,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. One out of nine women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime.

"It's about raising awareness and money for a good cause and a great hospital. And, it's also great to have fun," states Ron Matthews, with M.O.R.E. the event creator.

     Saturday, Oct 10th - Race Begins at 8 AM and Continues until 4 PM
     Public is Welcome - There will be an open BBQ, a Live Band
                                  and Raffles.
