SYDNEY – October 7, 2009: Hyundai’s Australian Dealer network has ended the third quarter of 2009 with another record for the Hyundai brand, selling 5,484 vehicles in September and achieving a market share of 7.0%, Hyundai’s best ever September result, topped off with the iLoad van range achieving its best ever market share and the Tucson compact SUV ranking first in the compact SUV segment for the first time ever.

In a total market that has decreased 13.1% (September YTD 2009 v. September YTD 2008), Hyundai remains the only top ten brand to post a sales increase, posting nine consecutive months of year-on-year growth and an overall increase of sales of 36.4%YTD.

Hyundai’s continued growth in Australia is reflected by Hyundai Motor Company’s global sales result, boosted by the launch in South Korea of the all-new ix35 compact SUV (Tucson ix in South Korea) and the mid-size sedan codenamed YF, as well as increased demand from Hyundai manufacturing facilities around the world.
