RESTON, Va.--ZoomSafer, the leading provider of innovative solutions to prevent distracted driving, announced today that it has raised $1 million in a seed round of financing from a private investor. The company will use the capital to launch commercial service for RIM Blackberry devices by the end of this year and accelerate development for Windows Mobile and Google Android devices.

"Distracted driving is a complicated behavioral problem and in addition to laws and education, we need contextual safe driving solutions to help millions of motorists make better choices and be more focused.” said Mike Riemer, CEO of ZoomSafer. “The completion of this financing provides appropriate funds so we can accelerate delivery of our patented service to keep people focused on the road and not on their phones.”

“I’ve been testing ZoomSafer for a few weeks and it’s definitely changed my perspective as a motorist.” said Mitch Stoller, CEO of Safe Kids. “Whenever I get in the car – I now have an important piece of context injected into my driving experience that helps me be more focused and less distracted.”

ZoomSafer released its initial beta for Blackberry phones on September 1, 2009 and has received tremendous feedback from hundreds of users across the U.S. Based on this feedback, ZoomSafer is prepared to launch a significantly enhanced phase two beta on October 20, 2009. The beta is FREE and members of the public are invited to register by visiting www.zoomsafer.com.
