Peugeot September Retail Sales up 18%
COVENTRY, UNITED KINGDOM – October 6, 2009: In a challenging market Peugeot saw its retail sales increase by 18% last month compared to September 2008. The increase was due to strong performances in September from the Peugeot 207 (up 9%) and the Peugeot 308 (up 17%).
The recent restyling of the Peugeot 207 has clearly strengthened the cars position in the UK market and with the launch of the new low emission 99g Economique model this month, this position can only strengthen further.
The Peugeot 207 continues to be in the Top Ten best selling cars in both the Retail and Fleet markets in the UK. A strong performance by the Peugeot 308 in September saw it retain its position as one of the UK’s Top Ten Fleet cars and was the highest placed French car.
This month will see the new Peugeot 3008 appear in dealer showrooms. Priced from £15,995 on-the-road, it is the perfect choice for customers who are looking for something different. Whether they drive a conventional saloon car, MPV, SUV or a hatchback, the 3008 will provide a new alternative which spans all these different vehicle types. It has the flexibility and space of an MPV, the rugged looks of an SUV and the vehicle dynamics of a family hatchback.
Peugeot’s LCV sales also remained buoyant with only a slight 1% decrease in September, in a tough market down 22%. Peugeot Bipper continued to sell strongly with sales up 96.5% compared to 2008 and new Partner up 45% in September
